Our History:

Hal Wilson, a veteran of real estate since 1968, started this company in 1988 as an investment real estate firm with a vision of taking the older, more urban neighborhoods and renovating and reselling the homes. Daughter Christie joined him in 1995 to start the listing and sales side of the company to round out The Wilson Group into a full service real estate firm.

With Hal’s experience in real estate sales, instruction, investment, renovation and rehab…and basically every aspect of real estate; with Christie’s experience in sales, management, leadership, and with their combined energy and enthusiasm for homes, housing, and educating people, The Wilson Group Real Estate Services and it’s agents is one of the most experienced, knowledgeable and professional firms in the city. We love old and new homes, city and suburban homes and the very in demand “city suburban” homes. (City Suburban is what was considered “suburban” in the 50’s and 60’s, and are now “in town”.)

Meet Hal and Christie:

Hi There and Welcome! My name is Christie Wilson, and I’m President and DOB of The Wilson Group Real Estate Services. DOB? You might ask. Oh, that’s Daughter of a Broker. Yes, I’m one of those. One of those women who grew up in the real estate industry, vowed she’d never ever in a million years choose this for a profession, and guess what…well…you got it…now owns the family business, and LOVES IT!

A native Nashvillian, I grew up in the West Meade area, went to Father Ryan High School and then on to the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. (Go Vols…but I gladly work with Vandy, FLA, Bama and GA fans, too).

I started my real estate career in high school working for my Dad, who owned Continual Learning Institute (a real estate training school), and then in college did an internship for a real estate appraiser for several years). I took a detour from real estate for about 5 years, and worked in consumer sales as well as taking off to Japan for a couple of years to teach English. I joined Dad in 1995 to start the listing and sales side of his company. What a great decision! I haven’t looked back since!

In this time, the opportunities have been endless for me to grow my real estate career, our company and our role as the real estate experts in Nashville.

As a real estate expert, I was President of The Greater Nashville Association of Realtors in 2006 (serving on that Board of Directors since 2002), served on the board of directors of the Tennessee Association of Realtors and chaired it's governmental affairs committee. Board of Directors of the National Association of Realtors. Board of Directors of Nashville Area Habitat for Humanity. Board of Directors of The Housing Fund. Member of Realtor Advisory Board for THDA. I'm also a graduate of the 2008 Class of Leadership Nashville, and a member of the Leadership Team for the class of 2009.

And when I’m not doing real estate related activities, I really have fun with my 2 dogs, Drywall and Paint, as well as traveling, boating, dancing…and making sure people are having as much fun as I am!
